Meet the owner

Kenny Conley

Owner · Operator · Brewmaster

Floating Lotus Brewery wasn't built around a business plan—it was built around a feeling. Owner and brewmaster Kenny Conley followed a winding path through music, audio engineering, the cannabis industry, and manufacturing before deciding it was time to combine the things he cared about most: great beer, live music, and genuine community.

After moving to Colorado in 2006, Kenny led production and operations in the cannabis industry, gaining the experience to build and manage complex businesses, before spending a decade learning the ins and outs of manufacturing. But his passion always pulled him toward creating a place where people could slow down, connect, and feel at home.

The name Floating Lotus reflects that vision. Inspired by time spent in Bali, where lotus flowers drift peacefully across the water, and by the brewery's location along the river, the brand embodies a simple philosophy: don't impose the vibe—become part of it. Music, nature, philosophy, sound, creativity, and community all flow together here.

When he's not brewing or planning the next live music event, you'll probably find Kenny talking with guests on the patio as the San Juan Mountains catch their evening alpenglow. For him, the best nights aren't measured by how much beer is poured, but by watching strangers become friends, musicians inspire new collaborations, and the brewery become a true home away from home.

His favorite beer is a hazy IPA—especially Floating Lotus's Blastoplast—and any Phish song is enough to get him dancing. Above everything else, he's most proud to be the father of his six-year-old son, who remains the center of his world.

Behind the bar

Hannah

Bartender

Hannah has been behind the bar at Floating Lotus since November 2024, bringing years of experience across the craft beer industry and a genuine passion for hospitality. She was drawn to the brewery because of its role as a cornerstone of the Ridgway community and is proud to be part of a place that brings people together.

For Hannah, great service is about making every guest feel seen, valued, and welcome. When she's not pouring pints, you'll likely find her canoeing on the reservoir or backpacking and camping throughout the Southwest Colorado landscapes she loves.

Lanae

Bartender

Lanae is one of those people who seems to know everyone, and if she doesn't yet, she probably will by the end of your first pint. A local for nearly two decades, she's spent years working in restaurants and bars throughout the area while also working full-time in landscaping. That combination has made her someone who naturally takes initiative, thrives in fast-paced environments, and isn't afraid to jump in wherever she's needed.

Throughout her career, Lanae has served as both a lead bartender and bar manager, helping launch and grow successful projects. At Floating Lotus, she was drawn in by the atmosphere, the music, the beer, and the sense of community, and she brings that same energy to every shift. Her coworkers know her for her hustle and for taking care of things before anyone has to ask. Guests quickly notice her outgoing personality and her ability to make everyone feel welcome.

When she's off the clock, you'll usually find her enjoying a great IPA—or a Blast from the tap—catching live music, or heading to a concert whenever she gets the chance.

“Come in, have some beers, enjoy the music and the ambiance, take a load off, and enjoy your time.”
